It is with great joy that I announce my parole from Texas state prisons (TDCJ)!
This is the result of a great show of mutual aid and solidarity from numerous anarchist collectives. Numerous individuals and groups who strive for abolition of prisons lobbied for my release! I am so grateful to the comrades at Blue Ridge ABC, The Final Straw radio show, Austin ABC, Central Texas ABC, Fight Toxic Prisons, IWOC, the Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement, the entire North American ABC as well as the entire ABC Federation.
I want to thank some of my dearest comrades who have become not just my supporters but true friends! Much love going out to Annabelle Parker of the Netherlands, Sam Rosen in the UK, Alina Dollat in Italy, Professor Victor Wallis, Michael Novick of Turning the Tide, Carole Seligman and Bonnie Weinstein, Comrades Julie Schneyer and Kirk Daniels, Harry Volker, Lee O’Dowd and Katie Lawrie of the Colorado College Prison Project, Nube Brown, Kim Pollak, Amani Sawari, Anarchist Bad Asss Sloan Rucker, Justin Adkins and Panagioti Tsolkas.
I want to send out real Panther love to Rashid Johnson and Karl Kersplebedep as well as huge hugs to my praying Grandma and Grandpa sister Mary Ratcliff and Dr. Willie Ratcliff of the San Francisco Bay View National Black Newspaper. Finally, I send a special shout out to Azzurra Crispino and Leah Buris of P.A.P.S., Keri Blakinger of the Houston Chronicle, Kamala Kelkar of PBS Newshour, Paul Holdorf, Esq., and Rachel Y. of the New Jersey chapter of the National Lawyers Guild. Xy of Austin ABC and Twitch of Central Texas ABC, y’all have always kept it real! Thank you! Dr. Heinz Leitner, you are loved! I apologize if I forgot anyone. I think I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Paul Mattick and Phong Bui of the Brooklyn Rail for amplifying my voice!
I’ll holler at y’all later!
Note from the Comrade Malik Support Network: Malik still has about 20 months to serve in federal prison, so he won’t be “out” imminently. However, being paroled from TDCJ will greatly improve his situation, as he’ll have access to phone calls and won’t be in solitary. He also may be eligible for a reduction of his federal time due to the First Step Act, which applies to the fed system.
UPDATES TO COME ON MALIK’S NEW ADDRESS! He is still in transfer limbo, so anything you send him at the Estelle Unit where he is currently, could get lost, as he could be transferred any day and we won’t know until it happens. Watch https://comrademalik.com/for his new address. Then flood him with mail so the prisoncrats will know to handle him with kid gloves.
“These Northern Democrats are in cahoots with the Southern Democrats. They’re playing a giant con game, a political con game. You know how it goes. One of ‘em comes to you and makes you believe he’s for you. And he’s in cahoots with the other one that’s not for you. Why? Because neither of ‘em is for you. But they got to make you go with one of ‘em or the other . . . . So this is a con-game and this is what they’ve been doing with you and me all these years.”

Revolutionary Greetings Sisters and Brothers!!
So, Joe Biden is the best that they can offer??? We in trouble y’all!! Eventually y’all are gonna wake up and start to listen to me but I’m not sure exactly when that will happen. Hopefully sooner than later.
On June 19th, 2019 there was a Congressional Hearing in Washington D.C. to discuss proposals on REPARATIONS for the descendants of Afrikan Slaves. The MAAFA happened here in Amerika and the wounds and scars are still fresh! Members of the G.O.P. commonly known as the Grand Old Party, members such as Mitch McConnell, said that there is no-one alive today that had anything to do with enslaving black Amerikans. McConnell made the hearings sound non-sensical and meaningless! I refute his stance and his statements strongly.
I refute his stance with a large body of evidence which clearly shows that the Criminal Justice System in Amerika, especially in the Modern Slave States of Texas and Georgia perpetuate and maintain the institution of Slavery!! It was heartening to hear Presidential Candidate Cory Booker respond to the GOP’s attempts to minimize the importance and the significance of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s proposal for House Bill-40.
However, we are still ignoring the FACT that the EXCEPTION CLAUSE contained within the body of the 13th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution has LEGALIZED Slavery and Involuntary Servitude in Amerika. Until we begin to have THAT CONVERSATION the one which involves Amending the 13th and striking the EXCEPTION CLAUSE —– WE STILL AIN’T FREE!
Sisters and Brothers, there are Movements here in Amerika known by names such as End Prison Slavery! And Amend the 13th! These are prisoner led movements. There are campaigns such as the Right-2-Vote campaign which is being led by our Warrior Princess Amani Sawari. This Campaign seeks to RESTORE VOTING RIGHTS and re-enfranchise hundreds of thousands of prisoners who have had their Right-2-Vote taken from them. I want all of you to understand that as soon as a prisoner is released from prison or jail she or he is expected to find a job and pay taxes! So with this in mind, why in the hell can’t all States Restore our Right-2-Vote??! The oppressors want us to financially support a System which has sought to destroy us for centuries then they want us to be satisfied with not having a “VOICE” or A Vote?? This makes no sense!! However, DISENFRANCHISING Blacks and Latinx people serves the interest of the G.O.P.!! But y’all can’t hear me?? Or can you?
I have comrades, friends and close allies who tell me: “Malik, we don’t support the electoral process in Amerika and we won’t publish or post anything you write that talks about that or promotes it.” Well Sisters and Brothers, I think that is easy for many of them to say when most of my comrades, friends, and allies in the free-world sit on their couches in their Air-conditioned Apartments, Houses, or Lofts and surf the internet on their i-Phones. They can get up anytime they feel like it and go to the park and enjoy the birds, the trees, fresh air and just be FREE!!
But I’d like some of y’all to think about things from my perspective for a moment. Think about how it feels to be trapped in a concrete cell for 23 to 24 hours a day for 365 days out of the year. Think about how hopeless things can get when you receive parole denial after parole denial and you know that there is a White Supremacist who resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington D.C. who doesn’t give a damn whether you live or die!! Think about the immigrant children in South Texas who are living in horrid conditions and who can-not play, get an education, access adequate health care, and they can’t even gain access to Legal Help because this ADMINISTRATION would rather see these children locked in cages rather than to see them Free! When you start to step out of your ‘comfort zone’ and change your perspective for a moment, you will see why there is no damn way I will try and convince black, latinx, or poor white folks not to attempt to Vote this Bigot out of Office! Ain’t no way. Now some of y’all who with-hold your support of me because I am supporting this strategy really don’t a damn about me or our sisters and brothers who languish in these prisons, jails, and detention centers!!
I SAID THAT AND I MEANT THAT! But I do know that WE can’t Win when we fight each other. I GET THAT!! We must dialogue more about this. We must continue to Struggle together against these Fascists/Imperialists & White Supremacists because in the year of 2019—-WE STILL AIN’T FREE!
When people hear the terms White Supremacist or White Nationalist, they envision bald headed young white men with swastikas, celctic crosses, and satanic body art tatooed on their bodies. People like to believe that these hateful ideologies are only embraced by a small cross section of Amerikan white men in rural sections of the south or remote locations in the North-West who are the only ones who promote hate. This is also not true!!
I am here to tell you TODAY that there are Semi-college educated WHITE WIMMIN who hold HIGH POSITIONS within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice who harbor and embrace these ideologies of bigotry and hatred.
These employees of the State of Texas continue to allow their hatred of Black and Latinx people to manifest in their arbitrary, capricious, and bias application of prison policies and Texas Government Codes. These Wimmin who HATE have Names and TODAY I WILL NAME THEM!!!
#1.) Lorie Davis, TDCJ-CID Director
#2.) Tracy Bailey, Deputy Director of TDCJ
#3.) Jennifer Smith, Supervisor of Director’s Review Committee
#4.) Janet Salles, Mail Room Supervisor–McConnell Unit and her assistant
#5.) Cherrell Merrell, Mail Room Employee, McConnell Unit
Don’t be shocked, and don’t be surprised!! For Donald J. Trump to become the President of the United States, you had to know that there were some racist White Wimmin in Amerikkka who quietly and secretly condone of the racial hatred and divisive messaging of Trump and his cronies. These Wimmin want to see the clock turned back!! And here in Texas they have an Attorney General named Ken Paxton who has clothed them with quasi respectability by giving them high positions in Amerika’s largest prison system. So here inside TDCJ we have clandestine supporters and member of the Ku Klux Klan!! ONCE AGAIN, I SAID THAT AND I MEANT THAT!!
Sisters and Brothers, a little over 4 years ago a white man entered a Histornic Black Church in Charleston, South Carolina an he murdered in cold blood NINE of our sisters and brothers who were there to promote Peace and not Hate, they invited Dylan Roof to join them and in the year 2019 . . .
WE STILL AIN’T FREE
When we incarcerate more Black Men in the U.S. Prisons and Jails than we graduate from College…
WE STILL AIN’T FREE!
As long as DeKalib County Jail is OPEN and our Loved Ones are being Caged, Abused, and Subjected to Cruel and Unusual Punishments…
WE STILL AIN’T FREE!
When my mail is tampered with Censored because I dare to mention the Black August Memorial or promote our Afrikan Amerikan Abolitionist Holiday that takes place ever year in JUNE!!
WE STILL AIN’T FREE!
When the Front Running Democrat for the 2020 Presidential Election praises his relationship with the Racist Congressmen known as Segregationists!! WE STILL AIN’T FREE! This Revolution won;t be Televised! It starts in your Heart and Mind!! Dare to
Change Maker, AMANI SAWARI taking Amend the 13th Petition to the UNITED NATIONS! (WE MUST SUPPORT OUR SISTER!!!)
by Keith ‘Malik’ Washington Chief Spokespersyn End Prison Slavery in Texas Movement
“We cannot afford to waver in our political participation, because we have the most to lose.” -Symone D. Sanders (Political Strategist & CNN Commentator)
Peace & Blessings Sisters and Brothers!
As “Independence Day” just passed, we the New Afrikan & Latinx people in Amerika must do a thorough inventory of our status and treatment within the confines of the United States of Amerika.
While many Free-World folks eat Bar—BQ and sip on something cold, a broad swath of the New Afrikan and Latinx population will be locked inside cages throughout Amerika!
This is a harsh and bitter reality that illuminates the fact that Freedom, Justice, and Equality still have not been achieved for many who have become victimized by Amerika’s ‘Manifest Destiny’.
Many of us claim to be leaders in the New Abolition Movement. This is a Movement which seeks to End Prison Slavery and Amend the 13th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution in order to strike the EXCEPTION CLAUSE.
If you claim to be a LEADER, INFLUENCER, or CHANGE MAKER then you must take on the work. TODAY I am here to proclaim that 2019 Rodenberry Fellow–Amani Sawari has risen to the challenge! For years I have toiled incessantly in regard to addressing and shedding light on specific injustices and abuse I’ve witnessed and been subjected to here in the SLAVE STATE OF TEXAS.
While I’ve been doing my “Thang”, Sister Amani has been doing hers, and in a magnificent manner I must add! Do you want to know why 2020 Presidential Candidates in Amerika have been talking about granting prisoners the Right-2-Vote?? It is because Amani Sawari and her Roddenberry Fellowship Recipients have spear-headed a National Campaign to Re-Enfranchise thousands of prisoners housed in Amerikan jails and prisons.
RE—ENFRANCHISEMENT is a crucial part of this protracted Abolition Movement. Re-empowering the disenfranchised with their Right2Vote provides us with a ‘Voice’ and an opportunity to take part in a Democracy which has failed us for decades!
In the 21st Century, Malcolm X’s teaching in the ‘Ballot or the Bullet’ seems prophetic, especially right now. We can’t continue to ignore the multitudes of humyn beings trapped inside these cages who have been systematically disenfranchised. This problem most assuredly will come back to haunt us, one way or the other.
One of our Main Points of focus in this Abolition Movement is to actively and assertively seek to Strike the EXCEPTION CLAUSE which is contained within the body of the 13th Amendment and which has promoted, condoned, and sanctioned “Legalized Slavery” for over a Century and a half.
Pennsylvania prisoner and Freedom Fighter Richard A. Smith has crafted a letter directed to members of the UNITED NATIONS. This letter requests that the UNITED NATIONS call for the “Slavery Clause” of the 13th Amendment to be amended in order to finally ABOLISH SLAVERY and INVOLUNTARY SERVITUDE in Amerika once and for all!!!
We the LEADERS, INFLUENCERS, AND CHANGE MAKERS of this Abolition Movement are requesting that our Sisters and Brothers in the Rap Music Industry as well as conscious Professional Athletes and Entertainers in Amerika with Free—Wor1d Citizens who are STAYING WOKE, sign on to this letter that we intend to deliver to the UNITED NATIONS SECRETARY Antonio Guterres.
The General Assembly Session opens in September 2019 so please do not procrastinate, ACT TODAY!
In order to check out the letter that we intend to send and to sign on your support and endorsement, please visit the link:

In closing, I send out a Call for Action and Support to Jay-Z and Meek Mill of REFORM ALLIANCE. I call upon the BIG HOMEY, H-Town’s Finest, Rap Mogul J. Prince as well as the entire #MobTies Movement. I am sending out a Special Request for Support to J. Cole, Colin Kaepernick, Cardi-B; Solange Knowles and BEYONCE!! WE NEED Y’ALL SUPPORT! Do your research, this Movement and this Struggle is REAL! I leave as I came in the spirit of PEACE! HELP US TO END PRISON SLAVERY IN AMERIKA!!!
Dare to Struggle, Dare to Win, All Power to the People!

After graduating from the University of Washington with a double major in media & communications and law, economics & public policy, Amani navigated into the world of journalism and research writing. Her time at UW allowed Amani to develop her writing skills, and her passion for social equity and human rights led her to pursue photography and journalism. In college she assisted new students from around the world with their transition into the university. She also mentored and arranged programs for students living in on-campus housing. These experiences allowed Amani to develop an appreciation for working with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Today, she is a newsletter writer and editor for two publications. She writes an internal newsletter for a real-estate agency in Seattle, and the other is a community publication called “No Shackles” for a prison advocacy organization. In addition to newsletter writing, she also manages her own website, sawarimi.org, where she publishes articles and essays to inspire the black community, particularly in the United States.
A fun fact about Amani: She started her own business when she was 18 years old. To this day she manages a hair studio in the Seattle area. As a result of this work, she’s been able to connect with hundreds of women from around the country, sharing her expertise and love for natural hair.
“I observed first-hand how the Nazi Poison transformed decent, caring, reasonable men and women into fanatical racists who approved the destruction of anyone and anything that did not conform to their vision of the world.”
– Hans-Jurgen Massaquoi, former Editor-in-Chief of Ebony Magazine
Hans-Jurgen Massaquoi was one of the few Blacks in Germany during Hitler’s rise to power. He was born in 1926 in the port city of Hamburg, Germany to a white German mother, Bertha Baetz, and Al-Haj Massaquoi, a Liberian businessman and Muslim. Massaquoi found out quickly that being Black was not compatible with the “vision” that Hitler had for Germany at that moment in history. In the 1950s, Hans-Jurgen Massaquoi emigrated to the United States where he became the editor-in-chief for Ebony Magazine, one of the LEADING African-American Magazines of All Time!
It is not a stretch to compare the Nazi Poison of Adolf Hitler with the modern day white supremacist hate speech promoted by Donald J. Trump. Prior to the massacre of muslims in New Zealand the murderer praised Trump for promoting white supremacy.
It has happened again! Another Mass shooting. 50 Muslims murdered! Many kneeling in prayer – shot in the back! I recently said on comrademalik.com that I was going through something but did not elaborate.
On March 8th, 2019, a womyn who is dying of Cancer was denied one final HUG with her son who happens to be incarcerated here with me! I had been helping them and advocating on their behalf. Paulina Gracia who has an aggressive form of Leukemia was told by the prison administrators here to come on and visit, they said they would allow her to hug her son. Then at the very last moment, they canceled the visit!!! That Hurt! It hurt all of us. All you can ask is WHY? Would this one HUG damage the Prison Agencies reputation?? NO, it would not. But then, look who is leading this campaign for Humyn Rights??!!
It is I the Muslim Activist known as Comrade Malik! AND THE WHITE SUPREMACIST PRISON OFFICIALS HATE ME! So my friends Miguel and Paulina – suffered! This is not my Vision of Love! A week later on March 15th, 2019 an Australian man, a white man, who subscribes to White Nationalism and embraces White Supremacy goes into two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand and he executes 50 of my Muslim brothers and sisters!! He murders them in cold blood. This senseless act of violence is as hurtful to me as the tragedy which took place at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh!!
Personally, I am really not caught up on focusing on whether the victims are Jewish, Muslim or Christians – they were all Humyn beings! No-one should be fearful in the place they worship and pray – no-one!! The shooter says he was ‘inspired’ by Dylan Roof and Andres Brevik. I believe that this spike in White Nationalism and White Supremacy is a manifestation of a mental illness that has not been diagnosed as such not yet! We must start to analyze this more closely especially when HATE AND VIOLENCE become a key part in the equation. Trump’s denial and downplaying of the problem isn’t helping anything.
Bringing this out into the OPEN and discussing it in Open Forums is a start in the right direction. I think people are uncomfortable with these issues and topics because it forces us to examine our inner feelings and beliefs – possibly we don’t want to share with the world what we really believe and feel. The election of Trump brought a lot of “closet racists” out into the OPEN! They now feel empowered and emboldened. It sounds good to say: “I’m not prejudiced, I have many Muslim friends or many Jewish friends, or many Black friends.” It sounds good! But what is the reality?
The State of Texas along with the Department of Homeland Security have labeled me a “Threat” because I speak the truth!!
Take a look at me!! Look at me with my Big Beard and Kufi prayer cap! How has the Mainstream Media in Amerika as well as the harsh rhetoric of Donald J. Trump made you feel about Muslim Humyn Beings??
Look at me!! You see the photo!! Does it make you afraid? Do you feel angry? Do you want to see me harmed? Let’s talk about it. I don’t have all the answers sisters and brothers but I think we can figure this out together if we can figure this out together if we try!! Please Stop the Hate and LOVE ONE ANOTHER!!

By Keith “Malik” Washington, Chief Spokesperson of End Prison Slavery in Texas Movement
In 2013 imprisoned Journalist, Activist, and Freedom Fighter Kevin “Rashid” Johnson
arrived in Texas after being transferred from the Oregon Department of Corrections. Johnson
who is the Minister of Defense for the New Afrikan Black Panther Party (Prison Chapter)
immediately became the target of a coordinated campaign by the State of Texas to silence his
voice and to harm him both physically and mentally. It wasn’t long after Rashid’s arrival that he
was transferred to the – infamous Bill Clements High Security Unit located in Amarillo, Texas.
While housed there* Rashid witnessed the Murder, Suicide, and Mysterious Deaths of numerous
prisoners housed at the facility.
Rashid wrote essay after essay detailing the grisly abuse of the mentally ill and other
vulnerable prisoners housed at the Unit. In 2014, I had heard enough and with the help of
Professor Victor Wallis Ph.D. I submitted a packet of information and a letter to then first lady
Michelle Obama. In the letter and packet I described the mistreatment
of incarcerated U.S. Military Veterans and the ‘Mysterious Deaths’ of prisoners housed at the Bill
In April 2015 I was surprised when I received a letter from U.S. Department of Justice
Trial Attorney Brian Buehler informing me that the packet of information and letter which I had
sent to the White House, was actually read by MICHELLE OBAMA and the First Lady
forwarded the letter and other information to Buehler at the Justice Department!!
This is the background story to what has now become a campaign in Texas to establish an
Independent Ombudsman Office that will monitor the actions of this extremely unethical, unjust,
and corrupt prison agency known as the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (sic!).
A Black Legislator in Texas named Jarvis Johnson, a Democrat from the city of Houston,
Texas has filed House Bill — 363 which calls for the creation of an Independent Ombudsman
Office. What actually is being proposed is that the current TDCJ Ombudsman Office be moved
and placed under the purview of the Texas Commission on Jail Standards.
There are some serious problems which exist within the current Ombudsman Office. Not only
have we seen on-going acts of cronyism, nepotism, and obstruction of justice tactics when family
members and friends of prisoners submit complaints, there are also noticeable appearances of
Structural, Systemic, and Institutionalized Racism and Bigotry hardwired into the mainframe of
this prison agency.
Lorie Davis is the Director of the TDCJ Correctional Institution Division.. Davis has
actually promoted, sanctioned, and condoned retaliation and intimidation of prisoners whose
family members and friends utilize the Ombudsman Program, but it is much deeper than just
Lorie Davis has created a culture within TDCJ by which Jail House Lawyers also known
as “Writ-Writers” are subjected to a manifold of reprisals for their peaceful and LEGAL
activities. Activities which are supposed to be protected under the U.S. Constitution’s First and
Fourteenth. Amendments!! Davis has also created a Toxic Work and living environment for both
prisoners and her employees. Patriarchy and the Misogynistic behavior of high ranking Male
Officers in the employ of the State of Texas has become the status-quo and norm inside Texas
Prisons. Davis can-hot feign nor claim innocence or ignorance because too many humyn and
civil rights violations have happened on her WATCH!
I actually have been working closely with one of Representative Johnson’s staff members
inorder to provide historical evidence which clearly shows that the current TDCJ-Ombudsman
Office has not only violated the public’s trust., but ignored serious complaints by family
members and friends who have incarcerated Loved Ones inside facilities operated by the Texas
Department of Criminal Justice.
One key point we have been trying to make is this:
MANY OF THE COMPLAINTS HAVE LED TO MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR CIVIL
LAWSUITS FILED AGAINST THIS UNSCRUPULOUS PRISON AGENCY AND TEXAS
TAX PAYERS CONTINUE TO FOOT THE BILL WHEN THESE MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR
SETTLEMENTS ARE HANDED DOWN, BY FEDERAL JUDGES! !
At the end of the day, our goal is to create an office which will provide transparency,
accountability, and meaningful investigations as well as oversight of a prison agency that has lost
the confidence of citizens and tax-payers. Texas has the largest State prison system in the
Country and establishing and Independent Ombudsman Office has the potential of promoting an
environment where prisoners may be treated with dignity, respect, and housed in humane living
conditions. Representative Johnson has told me in a letter that he believes that the First
Amendment of the U.S. Constitution is one of the key foundations which make the United States
unique from other countries.
A prisoner should never be afraid to exercise their right to Free-Speech. If there is one
message that I’d like to give to College Students, all across the United States it is this.:
YOU CAN NOT SAY THAT YOU BELONG OR REPRESENT A POLITICAL PARTY IF YOU
DON’T GET INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS! Whether you be a Democrat, Republican,
Socialist, or Democratic Socialist don’t ever let anyone tell you that your Vote or your Voice is
insignificant or that it doesn’t count!! THAT IS A LIE! The State of Texas is down here,
attempting to purge minorities from Voting Rolls — so please miss me with all that talk of our
Vote meaning nothing!! If it meant nothing these sneaky politicians and power – brokers
wouldn’t be trying to defraud and sabotage our Rights! Please stay tuned Sisters and Brothers
there will be: much more for me to report from the Lone Star State!!
DARE TO STRUGGLE. DARE TO WIN. ALL POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!
“By anarchist spirit, I mean that deeply human sentiment which aims at the good of all, freedom and justice for all, solidarity and love among the people, which is not an exclusive characteristic only of self-declared anarchists, but inspires all people who have a generous heart and an open mind.” – Errico Malatesta, Umanita Nova, April 13, 1922
Peace and Blessings, Sisters and Brothers!
Wow, how time flies. Four years ago, I was at the Pack Unit in Navasota, Texas, when I discovered that the prison unit had high levels of arsenic in the water supply! The oppressors at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality called me a liar. The fascist pigs who operate the Texas Department of Criminal Injustice retaliated. If it wasn’t for the mutual aid and solidarity of Panagioti Tsolkas and a few other dedicated free world supporters, the toxic water would have been ignored.
Sisters and brothers, people of color are disproportionately housed in prisons all across the United States of Amerika. Many of these prisons are plagued by toxic water, black mold, radiation or, as in the case of many prisons in Pennsylvania, they are located in close proximity to toxic sites, such as coal ash depositories which contaminate water and air breathed by the human beings forcibly housed at these toxic prisons! Contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
I am personally calling on PEOPLE OF COLOR in Atlanta, Georgia, and Mobile and Birmingham, Alabama; I’m calling on folks in South and North Carolina, Mississippi, Louisiana and my home state of Texas to come on down to Gainesville, Florida, June 14 through 17, 2019, and come see what the Campaign to Fight Toxic Prisons is all about.
Our sisters and brothers who are incarcerated need more of our people to take an active interest in these environmentalist movements. This Convergence in Gainesville is not just for anarchists; it is for all human beings who believe that together we can save our planet from imperialist multi-national corporations who seek to destroy Planet Earth and us along with it if we allow them to do that!
Come on Down to Gainesville and learn how to FIGHT TOXIC PRISONS today!
Dare to Struggle, Dare to Win, All Power to the People!
International call to action: 2nd annual day of action and solidarity with those who are fighting to end prison slavery in Amerika and throughout the world on June 19
by Comrade Malik, Chief Spokesperson, End Prison Slavery in Texas Movement
Revolutionary Greetings, Sisters and Brothers!
It’s that time again and I am sending out this call to action in order to encourage everyone who is passionate about abolishing all forms of slavery and involuntary servitude to come together in one united action of revolutionary solidarity on June 19, 2019, and protest against the enslavement, degradation and dehumanization of Amerikan prisoners and all human beings throughout the world who are subjected to any form of slavery or oppression!
As many of you know, June 19 is the day when Black people in Texas celebrate the freedom of their Ancestors, our Ancestors, who were held in SLAVERY for approximately two years after the entire nation acknowledged the Emancipation Proclamation. But the slave owners in Texas ignored this federal law.
June 19 is the day when Black people in Texas celebrate the freedom of their Ancestors, our Ancestors, who were held in SLAVERY for approximately two years after the entire nation acknowledged the Emancipation Proclamation. But the slave owners in Texas ignored this federal law.
This year’s call to action has special significance as the world’s eyes are trained on South Texas, where tens of thousands of asylum seekers from Central Amerika come to the United States seeking a safe haven but instead have found mistreatment, abuse, racism, and slavery. The legislative and criminal justice system in Texas continues to create the foundations for institutionalized racism and bigotry.
Do you realize that the U.S. Army had to ride into Galveston, Texas, in 1867 and announce that slavery had been abolished.
The state of Texas was so hell-bent on maintaining their slaves and profiting from slave labor that the U.S. Army had to show force to make Texas eliminate the practice of slavery. But it is still alive! Prison slavery is something that is being practiced and perpetuated in every state in the union and it has been codified by the most powerful legal document in the United States, the U.S. Constitution.
We must continue to call for the exception clause – or slavery – clause in the 13th Amendment to be struck down! We must finish the abolitionist work! Remember, sisters and brothers, that this is an international campaign which seeks to address the misogynistic practices of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as the genocide waged against Palestinian people.
The bigots who operate Texas prisons wish to silence my voice. I refuse to remain silent! On June 19, 2019, stand with us!
Dare to Struggle, Dare to Win, All Power to the People!
